HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-29-1982 Special MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN We, the undersigned members of the Fairhope City Council, do hereby waive notice of a special called meeting to be held 29 July 1982 at 5:00 p.m., City Administra- tion Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama, for the purpose of business concerning Daphne Gas Rates; and to discuss__ bids on chairs for the new Civic Center. ounce mem er ounce mem er ounce mem er Acting City Clerk 393 STATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in special session at 5:00 o'clock p.m. City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama 36532 on Thursday, July 29, 1982. Present were Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmembers Roy C. White, Sam E. Box, and C.O. McCawley; Acting City Clerk Betty Rivenbark. Councilmembers Trisha Nelson and David Ed Bishop.were absent. The purpose of this meeting being to discuss the bids on the chairs for the Civic Center and business concerning Daphne Gas Rates. The following bids were reported to the Council opened 7/26/82, on chairs for the new auditorium at the Civic Center: Chair Styles: #1 #2 #3 #4 Priced Each "D" = Dollie Hertz Furniture Paramus, N.J. Seconded by C.O. McQawley, motion passed unan- imously(Mayor voted also). At this time the Mayor reported he had a letter from Shores & Moore(attorneys handling Fairhope/Daphne Gas Agreement Litigation) asking that Section 5 of Ordinance No 700 be rescinded pending conclusion of the lawsuit. Sam Box introduced Ordinance #701. In order to take action at this time, Councilman McCawley moved to suspend the rules seconded by Roy White motion passed unanimously by the following vote: AYE -Box, McCawley, White, Nix. NAY -none. Councilman Box then moved for final adoption of Ordinance #701. Seconded by Councilman McCawley, motion passed unanimously by the following vote: AYE -Box, McCawley, White, and Nix. NAY -none.
