HomeMy WebLinkAbout11-21-1980 Special MeetingS^iAM OF AIABAMa COUNTY OF BALDWIN �( We, the undersigned members of the Fairhope City Council, do hereby waive notice of a special called meeting to be held 2f November 1980 at 5:00 p.m., City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama for the purpose of adopting an Ordinance - Conu pity Development Block Grant Councilmanber Councilmember Attest 235 The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in special session at 5:00 p.m. City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama, on Friday, 21 Novem- ber 1980. The purpose of this meeting was to transact business relative to a Community Development Block Grant. Present were Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmembers David Ed Bishop, Trisha Nelson, C.O. McCawley, and Sam E. Box; and City Clerk Evelyn Phillips. Councilman Bishop moved to approve the application prepared by Mrs. Tommie Werneth, Grants Consultant, request- ing a 100% CDBG Grant for paving and drainage improvements on portions of Mershon, Middle, Fairland, Pier and Pecan Streets. Seconded by Councilwoman Nelson, motion passed unanimously. Councilman McCawley introduced an Ordinance No. 658 to spell out unfair housing practices which are unlawful in the City of Fairhope, define real estate broker, estab- lish penalty for violations, method of making complaint, and authorizing Mayor to act on complaints. In order to take action on the adoption of this Ordinance at this time, Councilman Box moved to suspend the rules. Seconded by Councilwoman Nelson, motion to suspend passed by the follow- ing.unananimous vote: AYE- Mayor Nix and Councilmembers McCawley, Box, Nelson, and Bishop. NAY - none. Councilman McCawley moved for final adoption of Ordinance No. 658. Seconded by Councilman Bishop, motion passed by the following unanimous vote: AYE- Mayor Nix and Councilmembers McCawley, Box, Nelson, and Bishop. NAY - none. Meeting was duly adjourned.
