We, the undersigned members of the Fairhope City Council,
do hereby waive notice of a special called meeting to be held
17 April 1980 at 5:00 pm, City Administration Building, 387
Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, for the purpose of
opening bids on two Police cars.

The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in special session at
5:00 p.m., City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope,
Alabama. 36532, on Thursday, 17 April 1980.
The purpose of this meeting was to open bids on two Police cars.
Present were Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmenbers C.O. McCawley,
Jack A. Stipes, and David Ed Bishop; and City Clerk Evelyn Phillips.
Absent were Councihnembers Trisha Nelson and Sam E. Box, Sr.; and
City Attorney John Duck.
Mayor Nix opened two bids. The first, from Steber.Chevrolet
C n9any contained a letter explaining that due to General Motors'
model build -out schedule, they would be unable to quote on Police Cars
for the rest of the 1980 model year.
The second bid was from Gaston Ford Company on two 1980 Ford
LTD='S Police cars at $10,949.24 with trade-in of Police Car #10 and
Police Car #14; without the trade-ins, the cost would be $14,599.24..
Mayor Nix advised that one of the police cars is needed for a
new employee to use if this can be worked out. Councilman Stipes moved
to accept this bid if something can be worked out about the trade-ins.
Seconded by Councilman McCawley, the vote was AYE - Mayor Nix and
Councilmembers Stipes, McCawley & Bishop. NAY - none. Motion passed.
Meeting was duly adjourned.
