HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-16-1979 Special MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN X We, the undersigned members of the Fairhope City Council, do hereby waive notice of a special called meeting to be held 16 January 1979 at 6:00 p.m., City Administrative Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama, for the purpose of reviewing audit invoice presented by Parker & White for Fiscal Year 1977-1978.* *AMENDED: At 1/22/79 regular session, on a motion duly made, seconded and unanimously passed, the purpose of this special session is amended to include the authorization to purchase two calculators and to grant a salary increase to Utility supervisor. City Jerk 1 23 7 ounci man B The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in special session at 6:00 p.m., City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, for the purpose of reviewing invoice rendered by Parker & White for 1977-1978 Audit, on Tuesday, 16 January 1979. Present were Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmen David Ed Bishop, Sam E. Box, Sr., Henry G. Bishop, Billy Don Wiggins, and Jack A. Stipes; City Clerk Evelyn Phillips; and Mr. Pete White, Mr. Ken Hanak, and Mr. Tom Fickling of Parker & White, P.C. A general discussion of charges over the past few years and the current year's invoice resulted in agreement that present invoice is in line. Council and Auditors also reviewed the Audit Report item by item and it was suggested that: (1) Legal and Audit be shown sep- arately, (2) miscellaneous or "other operating expenses" be itemized in a separate report, and (3) Library expenses be reflected in the Library Audit Report. As recommended by auditors, Councilman Henry Bishop moved to write off Bad Debts as per auditors list. Seconded by Councilman Stipes, motion passed unanimously. Councilman Henry Bishop moved that 1977-1978 Audit Report and Auditor's suggestions for changes in record -keeping contained in letter dated 30 November 1978 be adopted. Seconded by Councilman Stipes, motion passed unanimously. With unanimous consent, the following items of business were acted upon: Councilman Henry Bishop moved to authorize the purchase of two calculators, one for City Bookkeeper and one for the Personnel Director. Seconded by Councilman Ed Bishop, motion passed unanimously. Councilman Stipes moved to authorize a one-step salary increase for Utilities Supervisor Aubrey Legendre. Seconded by Councilman Wiggins motion passed unanimously. Meeting was duly adjourned. APPROVED 0 Q City C er
