COUNTY OF 13ALDWIN
The City Council, City of Fairhope, met in special session at
5:00 p.m. at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue,
(Fairhope, Alabama 36532, Friday, 15 September 1978.
Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmen Jack A. Stipes, Billy Don
Wiggins, Henry G. Bishop, Sam E. Box, David Ed Bishop; City Attor-
ney John Duck; and City Engineer Ack Moore were present.
The purpose of this special session was to award contracts on
Sewer Outfall Repair work and the Street Repair work.
Mayor Nix reported the following bids were opened September
14th at 10:00 a.m. at the City Administration Building on the
Sewer Outfall Repair work:
Delta Pltmrbing Co. $ 35,435
Fairhope Paving Co. $ 37.;195
Best Mechanical Contractors $ 53,725
Northwestern, Inc. $ 58,963
W. R. Mitchell, Inc $130,690
Mayor Nix reported the following bids were opened September
15th at 10:00 a.m. at the City Administration Building on the
Street Repair work:
Fairhope Paving Co
Northwestern, Inc
Councilman Stipes moved

Councilman Wiggins moved to award Street Repair work, Divisio
I and III, subject to FDAA approval, to Fairhope Paving Company.
Seconded by Councilman Stipes, motion passed unanimously.
Councilman Box moved to award Street Repair work, Division II
subject to FDAA approval, to Northwestern, Inc. Seconded by
Councilman Ed Bishop; motion passed unanimously.
Upon consent of Council, City Engineer Moore asked for payment
of Engineering fees foriengineering done to date on flood -damage items
Councilman Stipes moved fees be paid as soon 'as first draft -is
received from FDAA. Seconded by Councilman Henry Bishop, motion
passed unanimously.
Also with consent of Council, Councilman Henry Bishop intro-
duced and moved for adoption of following resolution: BE IT RESOL,
BY CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF FAIRHOPE, That Mayor James P. Nix is
authorized to negotiate with First National Bank of Fairhope on
a temporary loan in the amount to be determined to be needed to
cover expenses of flood damage work for use during lapse of time
from completion of work by contractors to receipt of FDAA funds.
Seconded by Councilman Wiggins, motion carried unanimously.
Meeting was duly adjourned.

We, the undersigned members of the Fairhope City Council, do
hereby waive notice of a special -called meeting of the Council to
be held 15 September 1978 at 5:00 p.m. at the City Administration
Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama 36532, for the
purpose of awarding contracts on the Sewer Outfall repair work and
the Street repair work.
