STATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope, Alabama Imet in special session on Friday, December 16th, 1977, at 5:00 P.M at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope,Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama with the following members present: Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmen: Henry G. Bishop, Sam E. Box, and Billy Don Wiggins. ; Members absent: David E. Bishop and Jack A. S;tipes. The purpose of the special called session was to award the bid on the water line extension and the bid �on painting the main water tank. City Engineer Ack Moore said that the low bid on the water line extension was W.R. Mitchell at $ 48,884.65, and stated that he recommended the awarding of the bid to W.R. Mitchell and that the low bid on the painting of the main water tank was Frank Shelton, Utility Services, Inc., Macon Ga., at $ 42,114.00. Councilman Sam E. Box moved, seconded by Councilman Billy Don Wiggins, for the City to accept the low bid of W.R. Mitchell on the water line extension on U.S. 98 past Highwal 104, in the amount of $ 48,884.65, with a clause in the contract that the project will be completed by March 1, 1978. Motion carried. Councilma am E. Box moved to accept the bid on painting the 1,-� allon water tank inside and out , from Mr. Farnk Shelton of Utility Services, of Macon Ga., in the amount of $ 42,114.00 with a clause in the contract stating the date the job will start and the date of completion. Motion carried. Councilman Sam E. Box moved, seconded by Councilman Henry G. Bishop, to approve the engineers fees of $ 2,107.20 on the water tank and $ 2,444.23 on the water lines. Motion carried. Councilman Sam E. Box moved, seconded by Councilman Billy Don Wiggins, to authorize the Mayor to proceed with interim financing on a one year basis on the water line project. Motion carried.
