COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council of the City of Fairhope, Alabama met in special
session on Wednesday, July 6th, 1977, at 5:00 P.M., at the City
Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama
with the following members present: Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmen:
Henry G. Bishop, Sam E. Box, Jack A. Stipes and Billy Don Wiggins.
Members absent: David E. Bishop.
Chairman of the Airport Board J. Russell Kilgore presented the
members of the Council with the contract from Larson Edge for
Appraisal Reports, and with the contract from. M.D. Bell Company, Inc.,
for Appriasal Reviews. Mr. Kilgore also presented the contract
agreement between the City of Fairhope and M.L. Aust, Jr., Consulting
Engineer.
Councilman Billy Don Wiggins moved, seconded by Councilman Jack A.
Stipes, to accept the Contract for Appriasal Reports from Larson
Edge. Motion.carried.
Councilman Billy Don Wiggins moved, seconded by Councilman Sam E. Box,
to accept the Contract for Appraisal Reviews from M.D. Bell Company,
Inc. Motion carried.
Councilman Jack A. Stipes moved, seconded by Councilman Billv Don
Wiggins, to accept the Contract Agreement between the City of
Fairhope, acting by and through the Fairhope Airport Board, and
M.L. Aust, Jr., Consulting Engineer. Motion carried.
Chairman of the Airport Board J. Russell Kilgore told members
of the Council that they would need to come up with S 6,000.00
in order to meet the $ 416,000.00 needed for the Airport Project.
Mr. -Kilgore said that there was money available in the Airport Opera
ting Account but that the roof was in need of major repair and they
would like to keep these funds in reserve for that purpose.
Mayor Nix appointed Councilmen Billy D, Wiggins and Henry G, Bishop
to look into I,1r. Kilgore's request for $ 6,000,00 and report their
recommendation back to the City Council.
Councilman Sam E. Box told members of the Council that the Special
School has requested a sewer line to run to the pump, on Section
Street, and that they would pay for the cost of materials and labor.
The Council discussed the advantages and disadvantages of running a
sewer line for the Special School.
Councilman Sam E .Box moved, seconded by Councilman Billy Don Wiggins,
to authorize the Mayor to meet with the School Board regarding the
Special School's request for a sewer -line and report back to the
Council, at ,a later date. 1Mbtion, carried.
There being no `further business,;,on a motion duly made, seconded,
and carried, the meeting adjourned.
