HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-14-1977 Regular Meeting (2)STATE OF ALABBAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope, Alabama met in regular session on Monday, March 14, 1977, at 7:00 P.M., at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Fairhope, Alabama with the following members present: Mayor James P. Nix; Councilmen: David E. Bishop, Henry G. Bishop, Sam E. Box, Jack A. Stipes and Billy Don Wiggins. The minutes of the February 28th, 1977 meeting were approved. This being the date set for a public hearing on the rezoning of property for proposed Rosa Acres Unit II, located on the N/S of Edwards Avenue; approximately 150 feet of the N/E corner of Greeno Road from R-1 Low Density Single Family Residential District to R-3 Limited Multi -Family Residential District as applied for by Mr. Byrd L. Moore. Mayor James P. Nix called the hearing to order. Mr..Moore was present at the hearing to represent his application. A public discussion followed between adjacent property owners and Mr. Moore. Those property owners present at the hearing stated that they had no objections to the rezoning providing that nothing larger than a duplex was constructed. Councilman Sam E. Box moved to introduce the following Ordinance: ORDINANCE No. 585 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 557, ADOPTED AUGUST llth, 1975, BY REZONING THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY TO R-3: From From the Southwest corner of NW 4 of NW, Section 16, T6S, R2E, run N-890 54'- E, 40 feet; thence run N-00 01' 42"- W, 30 feet for a point of Be *rni ; thence run N-890 54'- E, 415 feet; thence run N-00 Ol ' 42 " -W, 270 feet; thence run S-890 54'- W, 125 feet ; thence run S-00 01 ' 42 " -E, 168.5 feet; thence run S-890 54'-W ,-290 feet; thence run S-00-01' 42"- E, 101.5 feet to the point of Beginning , containing 1.45 acres, more or less, being bound on the West by Greeno Road; on the South by Edwards Avenue; on the East by Jeff Davis Street and on the North by lands of Andrews and by Rasa Acres Subdivision. APPROVED MAYOR ATTEST: ORDINANCE NO 584 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ZONING ORDINANCE NO. 557 ADOPTED AUGUST 11, 1975 BY REZONING THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY TO B-4: BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE ALABAMA that the following described property be zoned as B-4 BUSINESS AND PROFESSIONAL DISTRICT. Beginning at the Northeast corner of Government Subdivision No. 7, Section 17, Township 6 South, Range 2 East, run thence South 30 feet to the Southwest corner of Morphy Avenue and South Ingleside Avenue in Fairhope, Alabama; thence South 89 0 28' West 100 feet to the point or place of beginning; thence run south 89 0 28' West 305 feet to a point; thence run South 890 28' East 305 feet to a point; thence run North 150 feet to the point or place of beginning; all in Government Subdivision No. 7, Fractional Section 17, Township 6 South, Range 2 East, Baldwin County, Alabama.
