COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session
at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Monday,
August 11, 1975 at 7:00 P.M. with the following members present:
Mayor James P. Nix, Councilmen: David E. Bishop, H. G. Bishop,
Sam E. Box, 011ie E. Deese and Barney L. Shull.
Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved.
Mrs. Florence Thames met with Council protesting her utility bill
Motion by Councilman Sam Box Seconded by Councilman H. G. Bishop
that the Mayor be authorized to renew lease with David Curtis
for the Municipal Fisherman's Dock, located on the Northand
West side of Fly Creek, for a period of one ,year ending Dec. 31,
1976. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman 011ie
Deese that the application of' -Jimmy Collins for Beer and Liquor
permits at Michael's Restaurant, formerly Parker House, be
approved. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Sam Box seconded by Councilman David Bishop
that two men be sent to Gas School and Two men to Water School.
Motion carried.
Motion by Council Shull that the following Ordinance and Map
be introduced =' x , ",_ZL
Zoning Ordinance #>�� and Map
Councilman H. G. Bishop moved that all rules governing the
Council which might, unless suspended, prevent the passage and
adoption of the Ordinance at this meeting, be and the same are
hereby suspended for the purpose of permitting the said Ordinance
to be finally passed and adopted at this meeting. Councilman Sam
Box seconded this motion. The question was put before the Council
and on roll call the vote was as follows: Yea: Councilmen: David
E. Bishop, H. G. Bishop, Sam E. Box, 011ie E. Deese and Barney
Shull. Nay: None. Motion adopted by unanimous vote of the Council,
Councilman Harney Shull moved that said Ordinance, Zoning Ordinance
No.� and Zoning Map, be finally passed and adopted as intro-
duced. Councilman Sam Box seconded the motion. The question of
final passage and adoption of said Ordinance was put to vote of
the Council and on roll call the results were as follows: Yea:
Councilmen: David E. Bishop, H. G. Bishop, Sam E. Box, 011ie E.
Deese and Barney Shull. Nay*. None. Motion carried unanimously
and Ordinance finally passed and adopted.
Motion by Councilman David Blphop seconded by Councilman Barney
Shull that the Performance Bond of Matthew P. Dial, Jr. and Doris
S. Dial, be accepted as presented. Motion carried,
Motion -by Councilman Sam Box, seconded by Councilman David Bishop
that -the City make application for Community Development Block
Grant SMSA Discretionary Balance Funds for drainage problem on
Northrup'Street; Fels and°School St. Motion carried.

Motion by Councilman David Bishop secmded by Councilman Sam Box
that the City advertise for Public Hearing on drainage on Northrup
Street, Fels and School Street for meeting of August 25, 1975•
Motion carried.

Motion by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman Sam Box
that the Following be appointed to Citizens Advisory Committee
for application of Community Development Block Grant SMSA Dis-
cretionary Balance Funds: Rick Boone, Mrs. Martha Hill, Harry
Winberg, Elijah Kidd and, Kenneth Cain. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman David
Bishop that bills be approved for payment as funds are available.
Motion carried.
It was duly moved, seconded and carried that the meeting adjourn.
