COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council of the Cityof Fairhope met in regular session
at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Monday,
April 28, 1975 at 7:00 P.M. with the following members present:
Mayor James P. Nix, Councilmen: David E. Bishop, H. G. Bishop,
Sam E. Box, 011ie E. Deese and Barney L. Shull.
Minutes of the previous meetings of March 24 and April 14 were
approved.
Motion by Councilman Sam Box seconded by Councilman Barney Shull
that Mrs. James E. Gaston, Sr., be reappointed to the Fairhope
Library Board for a five year term ending in May, 1980. Motion
carried.
Larry Ballard requested permission to operate a Recreation Center
with Pool Table, Coin operated games and cold drink machine at
208 Fairhope Avenue. No Opposition.
Application for Beer Permit at the Briar Patch, on Twin Beech
Road off Highway 98, within the Police Jurisdiction of the City,
was brought up for discussion. Motion by Councilman Barney Shull
seconded by Councilman H. G. Bishop that permit be granted. Upon
being put to vote the following vote was recorded. Voting For:
Councilmen: H. G. Bishop, Sam Box,. 011ie E. Deese and Barney L.
Shull, Against: Councilman David E. Bishop. Motion carried.
This being date set for opening bids on two oil switches, the
following bids were received:
Hill-Soberg, Mobile $ 69605.00
Mack Elect, Supply, Dothan 69213.74
Motion by Councilman David E. Bishop seconded by Councilman Barney
Shull that City accept low bid provided bid meets specifications.
Motion carried.
This being date set for opening bids on old vehicles belonging to
the City,, only one bid was received on each as follows:
1958 Chevrolet Truck $ 36.50
1955 Dodge Truck 79.98
1967 Dodge Car 56.50
Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Barney
L. Shull that City accept bids submitted. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman David E. Bishop seconded by Councilman H. G.
Bishop that the City Hall close all day on Saturdays effective
May 39 1975- Motion carried.
Motion duly made, seconded and carried that the meeting adjourn.
