HomeMy WebLinkAbout06-10-1974 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue; Monday, June'10, 1974 at 7:00 P.M. with the following members present: Mayor James P. Nix, Councilmen: David E. Bishop, H. G. Bishop, Sam E. Box and Barney L. Shull, Councilman 011ie E. Deese being absent. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Barney Shull that the He-Appraaial bill in the amount of $2,259.42 be approved for payment when funds are, available. Upon being put to vote the following vote was recorded:, For: Councilmen: H. G. Bishop, Sam E. Box and Barney L. Shull. Against: Councilman David E. Bishop. Councilman 011ie E. Deese being absent. Motion carried. Councilman David Bishop introduced the following Ordinance: ORDINANCE NO. 536 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 4 of ORDINANCE NO. 502 DULY ADOPTED ON THE 26th DAY OF JANUARY, 1973- BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA, that Section 4, Ordinance No. 502 be amended as follows: SECTION 4. ',There is hereby established a TWENTY-FIVE DOLLAR ($25.00) fee for temporary electric service installed by the City of Fairhope, Alabama This Ordinance shall become effective upon its due adoption and publication as required by law. Adopted this the loth day of June,A1974• Approve yam: Attest:.. - C ty Cler4 Counoilman David Bshop'moved that all rules governing the Council which might, unless suspended, prevent the passage and adoption of the Ordinance at this meeting, be'and the same are hereby suspended for the purpose of permitting the said Ordinance to be finally passed and adopted at this meeting. Councilman Sam Box seconded this motion. Upon roll call the vote was as follows: Yea: Council- men David Bishop, H. G. Bishop, Sam Box and Barney Shull, Nay: None. Motion adopted by unanimous vote of members present. Councilman David Bishop moved that said ordinance be finally passed and,adp3red as introduced. Councilman Sam Box seconded the motion. Upon roll call the vote for final adoption was as follows; --Yea: Councilmen: David Bishop, H. G. Bishop, Sam Box and Barney Shull. Nay: None. Ordinance duly adopted by unanimous vote of members present. Motion by Councilman Sam Boa seconded by Councilman David Bishop that since United Gas Pipe Line Co. has increased their gas rate on gas purchased from .4859 to .54809 that the City increase their gas rate to customers by 6%. effective July 1$ 1974• Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Barney Shull . seconded by Councilman Sam Boa that City adopt map of Special Flood Hazard Areas in the City of Fairhope as presented. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Barney Shull that the bills be approved for payment. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman Sam Boa that the City take a two page Ad in the Advanced Babe Ruth State Tournament program to help offset cost of tournament. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Shull seconded by Councilman Box that `the meeting adjourn.
