HomeMy WebLinkAbout05-27-1974 Regular Meetingl 4 STATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BkLDWIN- The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City- Hall, Monday, May 271, 1974 at 7:00 P.M. with the following members present: Mayor James P. Nix, Councilmen: David E. Bishop, b:. G. Bishop, Sam E. Box and Barney L. Shull, Council- man 011ie E. Deese being absent. Minutes of the previous meeting were approved. Mrs. Florence Thames met with Counail pertaining to public trans- portation, requesting any help or suggestions that the Council might give on securing public transportation in the City. Motion by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman_Bishop that the following Resolµtion be adopted: RESOLUTION WHEREA, Mrs. Fula M. Smith departed this life on the 21st day of May, 1974; and r WHEREAT , ;:Fula M. Smith was a valued employee of the City of Fairhope, Alabama from June 10, 1963 to the date of her death; and s WHERBAS,kEula 4. Notion carried. Motion by Councilmen Barney Shull, seconded by Counoilmaki H. G. Bishop that the City employ Claude Arnold, 42gineer, to proceed with the Street Improvtsaent Program. Upon being put to vote, the followin,gr. vote was recorded,& Fort Councilmen: H, G. Bishop and Barney L. Shull, Against: Cooaoilmerr t David E. Bishop and Sam Box, Mayor Nix then votedaye to ;break the tie and the mottQn was carried. t ti 0 1. K 1' M1 Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman David E. Bishop that Mayor Nix be authorized to sign Revenue Sharing Report as presented. Motion carried. Motion by Councilmen Sam Boa seconded by Councilman David E.•Bishop that the final bill of Martin Builders, Inc. in the amount of $15,266.36 be approved for payment. Motion carried, Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Sam Box that Mrs. Paul J. Shine be appointed to the Library Board for a five (5) year term ending May 41, 1979, Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Sam Box seconded by Councilman Barney Shull that the Police Deparpment be granted permission for Hadar Unit on trial basis for three months. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman Sam Boat that Ordinaroe No. 534, introduced at the regular meeting of Me-V 19740 be adopted as introduced.
