COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Cour cil of the City of Fairhope met in special session
at the City I.Aministration. Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, on
Saturday, March 10, 1974 at 9:30 .A-M, with the following members
present: Mayor James P. Nix, Councilmen: David (Ed) Bishop, H. G
Bishop, Sam E. Box, 011ie E. Deese and Barney L. Shull.
;�..�a.ch member present signed Waive of Notice of the calling and
holding of the special meeting.
Motion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman. Shull. that Jack
Kirk be appointed as Clerk of the meeting in absence of City Clerk.
;Motion carried.
Council Set '2uecday, ARY 7, 1974 at 5:00 P.M. as date to open bids
on Sewer Collection lines.

desire to purchase a parcel of land North of City Vkiintenance
Shop. Appraisal of Mr. Mike Ford was .12100,00 per acre ,end from i0rson
Edge, R a.l. E;;tate Appraiser,, at $1800.00 per acre. Motton by
Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Barney Shull that
the City of lRairhope sell six(6) to eleven(ii) acres of Land to
North American Telep'-one at $2100.00 per Acre. In the event the
development e..oes not progress the City has the right to repurchase
land at same price. Motion carried.
Motion by Council.mar. Barney Shull seconded by Cour_ci' man Deese that
monies receisred from sale of land to North American Telephone be
placed in Escrow to be used to buy lands for future industrial
Sites. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Barney
Shull that tktyor Nix be authorized to advertise for ?'aids to purchase
Computer for utility billing, �1ith alternate bid, for rental of equip-
ment. Motion carried.
I'iotion by Councilman Shull seconded by Councilman Sam Box that the
City of Fairhope create a new fireman's position and Assistant Fire
Inspector, notion carried.

AI,A.BAMA, tha l; the City continue the policy of installing water
lines in new subdivisions providing the Subdivider furnishes 9.1.1
materials as required by the City at the discretion of the Mayor
and City Council.
This Ordinance shall take effect upon its due adoption and
publication as required by law.

The following bids were received on Radio Equipment for the Police
Department:
Motc-rota 11, 222.00
General Electric 11,455.60
Motion by Councilman_ Sam Box seconded by Councilman 011ie Deese that
City accept low bid of Motorola in the amount of $i11,222,00 for new
Radio equipment for the Police Department. Motion cF:rried.
Motion by Councilman David Bishop seconded by Councilman Sam Box
that the City of Fairhope furnish House Power Panels for All
Electric Homes. Motion carried.
It was duly moved, seconded and carried that the meeting adjourn.
