HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-11-1974 Regular Meetingr STATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope, Alabama, met in regular session at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenge, Monday, February 11, 1974 at 7:00 P.M. with the following members present: Mayor James P. Nix, Councilmen: David Ed Bishop, H. G. Bishop, Sam E. Box, 011ie E. Deese and Barney L, Shull. Minutes of the previous and special meetings were approved. This being date set for public hearing on rezoning from B-2,and R-2 to A-3, Block 18, Volanta, approximately twenty residents of the area were present protesting rezoning. Motion by Councilman Shull seconded by Councilman Deese that the application to re6one be denied as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission.. Motion carried. Mr. Wendell Barnhill 'net with Council concerning drainage problem at 111 N., Ingleside. Council to work with Mr. Barnhill on this problem. Councilman Ed Bishop introduced the following Ordinance on Electric Deposits for All Electric Homes: r 3 L1 ORDINANCE NO.' 526 AN ORDINANCE TO SET A DEPOSIT FOR THE)ALL-ELECTRIC HOMES SERVICED BY' THE ELECTRICAL'DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY'OF FAIRHOPE, FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA "BE I'T ORDAINED BY THE MAYOR AND CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1 - It is hereby established that a $ZO.00 Deposit be paid by the owners. of All -Electric homes which are serviced by the Electrical Department of the City of Fairhope, Alabama. This Ordinance shall take effect upon its due adoption and publication as; required by law. .ATTEST: E ADOPTED THIS THE a 5-6 DAY OF February , 1974. i Motion by Councilman Shull seconded by Councilman 011ie Deese that application of Pak-A-Sak of Alabama, Inc. for packaged Beer permit be approved. Upon being put to vote the following vote was recorded; For: Councilmen: H. G. Bishop, Sam E. Box, 011ie E. Deese and Barney L. Shull. Against: Councilman Ed Bishop. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Sam Box that Mir. W. C. nukes be appointed to the Fairhope Parking Authority for a two year period. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Sam Box seconded by Councilman Barney Shull that Claude Arnold, Sam Dyson and Cecil Pitman be appointed as an Advisory Board to the Fairhope Parking Authority. Motion carried. City Council asked for bids on removing old generator from fire station, two bids received: 1. Steve Radiola, Jr. $100.00 2. Freeman Elect, Co., 777.77 to be paid to Freemen Elect. for removing generator. Motion by Councilman Shull seconded by Councilman Box that City accept bid of Steve Radiola, Jr. Motion carried.
