HomeMy WebLinkAbout07-23-1973 Regular Meetingswa,bF ALuAmh COUNTY OF BA,LDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, Mon- day, July 239 1973 at 700 P.M. with the following members present. Counoilmens David (Ed) Bishop, H.G. Bishop, 011ie P. Deane, Sam E. Box, Barney Shull. Absents James P. Nix, In absence of the Mayor, Councilman Sam Boa, Mayor ProTem presided at the meeting. Minutes of previous meeting were approved. Motion by Councilman H.G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Shull that consideration on Anderson Quaites III request for Beer Permit bq deferred for further information. -Motion carried. Motion by Councilman -Deese seconded by Councilman -Shull that the City place Ad in Baldwin County Fair Catalogue. Motion carried. Motion by Couoncilman Shull seconded by Councilman H.G. Bishop that the City accept letter of resignation from the Planning and Zoning Commission from Mr. Amon Gates and that a letter of commendation be sent to Mr. Gates. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman,Zd. Bishop seconded by Councilman Barney ShulX that Council retain Feibelman and Silver, Attorneys, For assistance in negotiating with Riviera Utilities for Electric Lines in Colonial Acres. Motion carried* Motion by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman H.G. Bishop that City use services of.Parker and White, Certified Public Accountants, in pr9paring Financial,statements on Federal Grants. Motion-oarried. ' 'Mrs.: Martha Hill and other residence in the area of Gayfer Court met with Council iniregards to -traffic hazard at the in- tersection of Gayfer Court and Section St., Section St. being U.S. 989 any changes would have to be made by the State. Council agreed to make application to the State for a traffic safety survey in the area. Residents also recommended that due to additional homes and apartments being built on Gayfer Court, "Gayfer Court being a narrow street" that "No Parking" signs be installed. Motion v by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman H.G. Bishop that the Police be instructed to post "No Parking" signs on Gayfer Court from Section St. to Circle Drive. Motion carried.
