COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular
session at the City Aftinistration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue,
Monday, May 28, 1973 at 7:00 P.M. with the following members pres-
ents Mayor James P. Nix, Councilmen: David (Ed) Bishop, H. G.
Bishop, Sam E. Box, 011ie E. Deese and Barney L. Shull.
Minutes=6f the previous regular meeting were approved.
Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop that the application of
Bernise Brazile for beer permit at Skip's Place in the Police Jur-
isdiction be denied based on the Police Department's recommendatio
Motion seconded by Councilman Box and carried.
Motion by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman Ed
Bishop that Ordinance No, 504, AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 13,
DISTRICT BOUNDARIES, OF ZONING ORDINANCE 295, introduced at the
regular meeting of May 14, 1973 be adopted as introduced. Motion

Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Sam
Box that Ordinance No, 505,"+ AN ORDINANCE AMENDING -,CHAPTER 200 TAX-
ATION, Code of Ordinances of the 'City of Fairhope, introduced at
the regular meeting of May 14,,1973, be adopted as introduced.
Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman 011i
Deese that the following Ordinance be introduced:
ORDINANCE NO. 506
AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SEC. 2-10(a), CODE OF ORDINANCES
OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA
SEC, 2-10(a) Vacation and sick leave for salaried City
Employees contract provisions; is hereby amended to read as follows,
(a) Salaried employees of the City who now have been in
continuous employment of the City for twelve (12) months or longer
$'hall be entitled to two (2) weeks vacation each year with pay,
those who have been in continuous employment of the City for fif-
teen (15) years shall be entitled to three weeks vacation each year
with pay and those who have been in continuous employment of the
City for Twenty -Five (25) years or over shall be entitled to Four
(4) weeks vacation each year with pay.
Any Ordinance in conflict herewith is hereby repealed.

RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL of the City of Fairhope,
Alabama that James P. Nix, Mayor, is hereby authorized to execute
for and behalf of the City of Fairhope, a public entity establish
ed under the laws of the State of Alabama, this application and
to file it in the appprnpriate State Office for the purpose of
obtaining certain Federal financial assistance under the Disaster
Relief Act (Public Law 606, 91st Congress)
Passed and approved this the 28th day of May, 1973•

Baldwin, State of Alahama, vacatioo a oortion of said street, has been duly

Motion by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman Ed
Bishop that the Mayor be authorized to sign Quit -Claim deed to
Sage A. Normand and wife, Gene A. Normand for that portion of
Gayfer Street vacated. Motion carried.
It was duly moved, seconded and carried that the meeting
adjourn.

Councilman H. G. Bishop introduced the following Ordinance.
ORDINANCE NO.
'AN ORDINANCE TO REPEAL ORDINANCE 224, ADOPTED ON THE 8th
DAY OF FEBRUARY, 1954, AND ALSO CITED AS SECTION V-3 IN THE CODE
OF ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE
AS FOLLOWS:
1. That the Ordinance No. 224, adopted by the Mayor and

Council of the City of Fairhope on the,8th day of February, 1954
cited in the Code of Ordinances as Section 5-3, pertaining to
building applications to be submitted to the City Planning Comm-
ssion be, and the same is hereby repealed.

A letter from the Christian Science Church asking for per-
mission to erect a pre-fab building on their lot was presented.
Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Barney
Shull that permission be granted. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman
Barney Shull that Mr. Jim Gaston, Jr. be reappointed to the Air-
port Board for a term ending May, 1975 and Mr. Russell Kilgore
reappointed for a term ending May, 1974. Motion carried.
Motion by Qbuncilman Sam Box seconded by Councilman Barney
S(p11 that Mrs.�Byrd L. Moore, Jr. be reappointed to the Library
Board for a term ending May 4, 1978. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Sam Box seconded by Councilman Barney
Shull that Mr, George McKee be reappointed to the Harbor Board f
a term ending April, 1975. Motion carried.
Industrial Board appointments tabled until recommendations
received from the Industrial Board.
Mayor Nix presented the following out ine for spending
Revenue Sharing Money.

Motion by Councilman Barney Shull seconded by Councilman Ed Bishop
that the Mayor be authorized,to sign and publish the Revenue Shar-
ing Report. Motion carried.
The following bids were received on Electrical Equipment:
Hatfield and Co. $119285.61
Hill-Soberg Co. 8,587.73 (No bid on a number of item
Moore -Handley Bid received late.
Motion by Councilman Ed Bishop seconded by Councilman Barney
Shull that the bids be evaluated and low bid accepted. Motion
carried.
Motion by Councilman H. G. Bishop seconded by Councilman Bar-
ney Shull that the bills be approved for payment. Motion carried.
