COUNTY OF BALDWIN
We, the undersigned members of the Fairhope City Council hereby
waive notice of the calling of a special meeting of the Fairhope
City Council and do consent that said meeting be held at the City
Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, March 17, 1973 at
900 A.M. for the purpose of considering Resolution and putting
Into effect the Mayor as Superintendent of Utilities and to review
and accept bids on gas pipe. r 1

STATE OF ALABAMA
COUNTY OF BALDWIN.
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in special session
at the City Administration Building, 387 Fairhope Avenue, at 9:30
A.M. March 17, 1973 with the following members present: Mayor
James P. Nix, Councilmen: David (Ed) Bishop, H. G. Bishop, Sam E.
Box, 011ie E. Deese and Barney L. Shull.
Each member signed Waive of Notice of the calling and holding of
a Special Meeting.
It was noted that the purpose of the meeting was to consider and
put into effect the Mayor as Superintendent of Utilities and to
accept and review gas pipe bids y `
Councilmen H. G. Bishop introduced the following Resolution and
moved for its adoption. Motion seconded by Councilman Sam Box and
carried unanimously. 4
RESOLUTION
BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL. OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE,
ALABAMA that James P. Nix, Mayor -of the City of Fairhope, Alabama,
be and he is hereby required to act as Superintendent of the
Municipal Water System, Municipal Light and Power System and Mun-
icipal Gas System, and as such he shall see that the systems are
kept in proper repair and operation and.have information relative
to such systems available for the City Council.
BE IT FURTHER Resolved that in addition to the salary now
fixed and paid to the said Mayor of the City of Fairhope under
the general law of the State, there shall be paid to James P. Nix,
as Superintendent of the Utilities, the sum of SIX HUNDRED($600.00
,DO.uLARS per month.
The City Council of the City of Fairhope may at any regular
meeting or special meeting called therefore, discontinue the
services of the Mayor as Superintendent of the Utilities and in
the event of such discontinuance of his services as Superintenden
of Utilities all compensation authorized as Superintendent shall
,lapse.
This Resolution shall be come effective on April 1, 1973
shall expire on October 1, 1976 and sooner if the present Mayor
shall vacate the office.

Motion by Councilman Sam Box seconded by 'Coun'dilman Ed Bishop
that City accept low bid of L. B. Foster Company. Motion carried.
It was duly moved, seconded and carried that the meeting adjourn.
