COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session
t the City Hall, Monday, April 149 1969 at 7:30 P.M. with the
following members present: Mayor Macon, Councilmen: Nix, Cowen
Bishop, Box and Robertson.
Minutes of the previous regular and special meetings were approved.

Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Box that
transfer of $15,000.00 from Gas Fund to General Fund be approved.
Motion carried.
,e Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Box that
transfer of $+3, 600.00 from Gas Fund to General Obligation
Improvement Bond Account be approved. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Bishop that Mrs. Claude O'Gwynn be nominated
to the Library Board to fill the unexpired term of Mrs. Mamie
McNulty, term to expire May 49 1972. Motion seconded by Councilman
Box. There being no further nominations the motion was duly carried
Mr. Barney Shull, Chairman of Recreation Board, and Professor Boyki
met with the Council in regards to Young Street Recreation Center.
Motion by Councilman Cowen seconded bz Councilman Bishop that the
Fairhope City Council authorize the R creation Board to ask for
ids on swimming pool facility to be constructed at City Park on
Young Street. Bids to be opened at the next regular meeting of
the Council on April 28, 1969 at 7:30 P.M. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Nix seconded by Councilman Cowen that the bill
be approved for payment. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman Robertson that
Council appropriate $3,000.00 to start dredging and bulkhead projec
in a portion of Fly Creek at fishing dock as recommended by the
Harbor Board. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Nix that
$7500.00 from Electric Fund, $8500.00 from Gas Fund and Savings
Certificates in the amount of $12,000.00 be deposited in the
Beach and Pier Account. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman Cowen that City
award contract to Harrington Construction Company for utility
relocation on Project No. I-10-1(21)35. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Nix seconded by Councilman Robertson that
the City Attorney be instructed tozhave owner of Apartment house
on Fairhope Avenue clean up lot or be prosecuted for failure to
do so. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Box that Jack
Kirk be authorized to ask for bids on welding equipment suitable
for the City's needs. Bids to be opened at the next regular meeting
of the City Council on April 28, 1969 at 7:30 P.M. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Nix seconded by Councilman Robertson that the
City Garbage truck be -repaired at a cost of $813.00, Motion
carried.
IMotion by Councilman Cowen seconded by Councilman Nix that the
meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
