HomeMy WebLinkAbout02-10-1969 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City'Counoil of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, February 10, 1969 at 7:30 P.M. with the following members present:_Mayor Macon, Councilmen: Nix, Cowen, Bishop, Robertson and Box. Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved. Motion by Councilman Nix seconded by Councilman Robertson that Ordinance No. 413, An Ordinance Amending Zoning Ordinance No. 2959 introduced at the regular meeting of January 27, 1969 be adopted as introduced., Motion carried. This being date set for Public Hearing on amendments to the south ern Standard Building Code, 1968 Revisions of the Southern Stands Building Code, 1966 Revision of the amendment to the Southern StandardBuilding Code, Part III(Plumbing) and the amendments to the Southern Standard Plumbing_Code, 1968 Revision to the 1967 edition and the amendments to the Southern Standard Gas Code, 196 Edition as contained in the 1968 revision, no protests haveing be heard, Councilman Bishop moved, seconded by Councilman Box that Ordinance No. 411 and Ordinance #412 be adopted as introduced at the regular meeting of January 13, 1969. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Robertson seconded by Councilman Box that a public hearing be held in conjunction with the regular meeting of the Fairhope City Council on.February 24, 1969 at 7:30 P.M. at the City Hall to discuss the request of B. A. Foreman to rezone from R-2 to R-39 Lots 15 and 16 of Fairhope Colored Subdivision and Lot 49 Block 2 of Coleman Suburban Homes. -Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Robertson"seconded by Councilman Box that t following Ordinance be introduced., ORDINANCE NO. 414 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTTM73 9 DISTRICT BOUNDARIES, OF -ZONING ORDINANCE N0. 295. BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALAB THAT THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED PROPERTY BE REZONED FROM R-2 to R-3 AS RECOMMENDED BY THE PLANN?NG AND ZONING COMMISSION: Lot15*an4"16 of f, hope Colored Subdivision and Lot No. 4 in Block 2 of Coleman Subdiv- ision Suburban Homes, all being in the N. Eel Quarter of Section 209 Township 6 South, Range 2 East. Notion by Councilman Bog seconded by Councilman Bishop that the City extend 2" gas line approximately 49000 feet south on High- way 98. Motion carried. Notion by Councilman Box seconded by Councilman Nix that the City purchase two loads of_water pipe and one load of sewer pipe under our present contract price. Notion carried. Motion by Councilman Robertson seconded by Councilman Cowen that the City approver_ plans for sidewalk on the East side of South Section Street from Belangee Street to Norphy Avenue. Motion carried. Notion by Councilman Cowen seconded by Councilman Bishop that the City install new motor in 1967 Plymouth Police car at an approx- imate cost of $500.00. Notion carried. Notion by Councilman Cowen,�geconded by Councilman Robertson that the City advertise for Pub. , Hearing on rezoning the following described property from B-3'to B-2. Notion carried. North J Block 79 Division 1 South Side of Magnolia except 187 feet from Section west.: North J Block 8, Division 1, South side of Magnolia Avenue from Church to Summit except 116J feet on Magnolia and 173 feet on Summit known as the Library Lot. Motion by Councilman Robertson seconded by Councilman Cowen that the bills be approved for payment. Motion carried. Notion by Councilman Cowen seconded by Councilman Nix that the Council approve. budget as submitted by the Recreation Board for the year 1969. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Robertson seconded by Councilman Box that storm sewer be installed at end of Cole Court as requested by George Stejskal. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Robertson seconded by Councilman Nix that the City Clerk be authorized to pay claim of Mrs. W. J. Hinz in the amount of $163.13 out of monies on deposit in the 1966 Street Improvement Account. Motion carried. It was duly moved and seconded that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried.
