HomeMy WebLinkAbout01-27-1969 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City-6ounoii of the City of F-irhope met in regular session n at the City Hall, Monday, January 279 1969 at 7:30 P.M. with the following members present: Mayor Macon, Councilmen:'Niz, Robertson, Cowen, Bishop and Bog.' The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved., This being date set for public hearing on rezoning from R-1 to R-3, property on Mobile avenue known as Wylie property, there being no objections, Councilman Nix moved, seconded by Councilman Bishop, that the following Ordinance be introduced: ORDINANCE N0. l AN ORDINANCE AMENDING -SECTION 13, ISTRICT BOUNDARIES OF ZONING ORDINANCE NO.'295 BE IT ORDAINED BY -THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIRHOPE, that Ordinance No. 2959 Section 139 District Boundaries, be amei as recommended by the Planning and Zoning Commission by rezoning the following described property fr6m R-1 to R-3: From the Northeast Corner of Section 19, T6S, R2E9 run West 4718 feet; thence run South 1066 feet; thence run S 370 W, 268.5 feet to a point in the old"fenoe line dividing the Philmore Denton property from the Magnolia Beach Addition to Fairhope, Alabama; thence run S 560 30'E, 18 feet to a point on the western margin of then Eastern Shore Highway (now U." S.� 98 ); thence run S 24 W, along the western margin of said highway, 94 feet to an iron pipe cornermarker, the Southeast Corner of Lot 9 of the Denton Family Division as shown by Map Recorded in Map Book 69_Page 469 Probate Records,Baldwin County, Alabama, for a POINT OF BEGINNING: From said Point of Beginning, run'S 140 51' W, along th e west side of said highway, a distance of 200.0 feet; thence run N 730 W, 645 feet, more or less, to the eastern margin of Mobile Bay; thence run Noreastwardly following the meanders of said bay shore, 200 feet more or less to a point in the Southern boundary of property formerly belonging to Philmore W.+ Denton, as shown by said map recorded in Map Book 69 at page 46; thence run S 736001E9 635 feet, more or less; to the Point of Beginning.! Lot contains 2.94 acres, more or less, and lies partly in Sec. 19, T6S, R2E9 and partly in Sec. 24, T6S,R1E Baldwin County, Alabama. Motion by Counoilman Bishop seconded by Councilman Robertson that the City have tractor repaired as per quotation from Burford Equipment Company in the amount of $19508.'58. Motion carried. Dr. H. C.{ Mullins met with the Council on behalf of the Baldwin County Mental Health Clinic recently opened in Fairhope. Notion by Councilman Nix seconded by Councilman Robertson that the City contribute $1200.00 per year to the Clinic. Notion carried. Notion by Councilman Cowen seconded by Councilman Bishop that the following salaries be set effective February 1, 1969: E.� J.; Kirk $700.00 Bill Creamer .575.00 Henry Creamer 500.00 Howard Ruge 500.-00 Leo Gilheart 625.00 Henry Nolte 550:00 Notion carried unanimously. Notion by Councilman Robertson seconded by Councilman Box that other City employees receive wage increases'as adopted'by the City Council to become effective with the February 7, 1969 pay period., Notion oarried.'
