HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-23-1968 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of.the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, September 239 1968 at 7:30 p.m., with thi following members present: Mayor R. C. Macon, Councilmen: Spader, Reynolds, Stipes, Gaston and Stine. Minutes of previous regular meeting and special meeting were ap- proved. Motion by Councilman Stine seconded by Councilman.Stipes that City extend sewer line approximately 300 feet on Dan Horn Lane at usual Price to customer. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by -Councilman Reynolds that upon the recommendation of the Recreation Board that Greeno mark be named and dedicated as Fairhope Municipal park and that the swimming pool complex be named for former Mayor Joe Schneider and a plaque with names of Joe Schneider, Mayor and Councilmen: L. I. Boone, J. E. Gaston, Jr., W. J. Nelson, R. J. Spader and W.O.Poser be placed at the complex. Upon being put to vote the following vote was recorded:_Fors Councilmen: Spader, Reynolds, Stipes and Stine. Against, None. Councilman Gaston abstained from voting. Motion carried. Motion by. Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stine that City install 6" water main with two fire hydrants, approximately 1980 feet east ,of City Limits on Gayf.er Street Extension pro- vided ten customers sign agreement to pay $250.00 plus cost of meter. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman.Stine seconded by.Councilman Gaston that City pay additional cost of.. $ _20 j�.2.6..a on fly -over easement at Municipal Airport. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Spader that Council approve sending two men to Arson School. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman ..Reynolds .seconded by Councilman Spader that Superintendent be authorized to purchase 2600 feet of 6" cast iron water pipe and fittings. Motion carried. Motion by. Councilman Reynolds. seconded by Councilman Stipes that the following be appointed to the Adjustment Board: Mr. Matt DiaAlfor one year. Mr. Wm. B. Jones and Mr. Henry Nix for two years. Dr. R. H. Stine _and Mr. Clint Fortenber.ry for three years. Upon being put to vote the following vote was recorded: For:. Councilmen: Spader, Reynolds, Stipes, Gaston ad Stine. Against: Mayor Macon.
