HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-09-1968 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN z The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, September_9, 1968 at 7:30 P.M. with the following members present: Mayor Macon,i Councilmen: Spader, Reynolds, Stipes, Stine and Gaston.' Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded. by Councilman Reynolds that the following Resolution be adopted. Motion carried. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, the City of Fairhope, Alabama, is the Payor on a series of warrants, commonly designated as "1958 Series Warrants" dated December 1, 1958, and WHEREAS, that in and by the terms of the said 111958 Series Warrants" that any unpaid warrants can be called after December 1, 1968 plus the accrued interest and any penalty thereunder,' and The City is now desirous of calling all unpaid 1958 warrants in and paying in full for their redemption; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the CITY OF FAIRHOPE does by these presents hereby call for redemption on December 1, 1968 the following "1958 Series Warrants": Number Maturity Date Denomination 151 to 165 December 1, 1969 $ 10000.00 each 166 to 180 December 1, 1970 1,000.00 each 181 to 195 December 1, 1971 1,000.00 each 195 to 210 December 1, 1972 19'000'000 each BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City is not now in default under this indenture, and that none of the "1958 Series Warrants" are in default., BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that there are no restriction on or conditions precedent to such redemption:,:, BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that not less than thirty (30) days prior to December 19 1968,_the CITY OF FAIRHOPE shall cause to be published one (1) time in a newspaper_published in the City of Birmingham, Alabama, a notice that the "1958 Series Warrants", with the above stated numbers,• have been called for redemption and will become due and payable at the redemption price on December 1, 1968.. ADOPTED this the 9th day of Se to ber 1968 Mayor Attest: Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stine that th petition furnished to Councilman Reynolds be forwarded along with copy of letter dated February 911966 to Mayor Macon, to the Highway Department for further action on four lane Highway on Greeno Road from State 104 to Morphy Avenue as originally Stated I in letter. Motion carried.t Notion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Reynolds @that the Council recommend that the nexit Council continue with the beautification and improvement of beach area and consider opening the beach road to Gayfer Street. M6tion carried.'
