Macon, mayor and The City Council Fairhope, Alabama Gentlemen: Confirming our recent conversation on my retirement, I would like to make it effective as of September 1, 1968. In the interim, I have agreed, subject to your approval along with that of the City Council that Mr. Robert Long take over the responsi- bilities of my office thereby relieving me and giving him the experience of making the decisions. It was further agreed that the salaries would be switched, he moving up to my salary and I stepping down to his effective June 1, 1968. Naturally someone will have to be hired to train as meter reader to fill the vacancy when I leave, which will take at least the three months involved. If the above can be arranged at the next council meeting it would be greatly appreciated. Sincerely yours, _Yk Marvin Nichols MN/es GENERAL FUND: Southern Bell Tele. & Tel. Co.
