HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-19-1968 Special MeetingThe undersigned mayor and Councilmen of the City of Fairhope, Alabama, hereby waive notice of the calling and holding of a special meeting of the Fairhope City Cpuncil to be held at City Hall, Tuesday, march 199 1968 at 5:00 p.m., for the purpose of djfscussing highway, paving and sewer on Section Street and Fair- iope Avenue, and agree and consent that said meeting shall be held at such time and for such pur Cpuncilman STATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in special session at the City Hall, Tuesday, march 19, 1968 at 5:00 p.m., with the following membes present: mayor Macon, Councilman Gaston, Stipes, Reynolds and Spader; councilman Stine being absent. Each member present having signed waiver of notice and calling of Special meeting, May/or Macon called the meeting to order stating that thepurpose of the meeting was discussing and taking neces- �ary action on the highway on North Section Street and Fairhope Avenue, and/also sewage treatment project. Motion by Councilman Gaston, seconded by Councilman Stipes that Mayor Macon be authorized to sign contract with the State of Ala- bama, State Highway Department, for four-laning certain portions of North Section Street and Fairhope Avenue. Motion carried unan- imously. Motion by Councilman Reyinolds, seconded by Councilman Spader that the following resolution, approved on the 24th day of October, 1966 be and is hereby rescinded. Motion carried unanimously. RESOLUTION WHEREAS, The City of Fairhope, Alabama, herein called the "Applicant", after thorough consideration of the various aspects of the problem and study of available data, has hereby determined that the construction of certain works required for the treatment of sewage is desirable and in the public interest, and to that end it is necessary that action preliminary to the construction of sewage treatment works be taken immediately; and WHEREAS, Under Section 1466e, Title 33, of the Unnted States Code, the United States of America has authorized the makint, of grants in aid in financing the cost of construction of neces- sary treatment works to prevent the discharge of untreated or in- adequately treated sewage or other waste into any waters; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY The City Council of the City of Fairhope, Alabama the governing body of said Applicant, as follows: 1. That Ack W. Moore, Presedent of BYRD L. MOORE & CO., be hereby authorized to file in behalf of the Applicant an application (in the form required by the United States and in conformity with 33 USC 466e) for a grant to be made by the United States to the appli• cant to aid in defraying the cost of construction of sewage treat- ment works; 2. That the said Ack W. Moore is hereby designated as the autho- rized representative of the Applicant for the purpose of furnishinc to the United States such information, data and documents s per- taining to the application for a grant as may be required; and otherwise to act as the authorized representative of the Applicant in connection with this applicatipn; 3. That certified copies of this resolution be included as a part of the application to be submitted to the United States for a grans ADOPTED THIS 24th day of October, 1966. APPROVED: R C. That R. C. Macon, Mayor, be hereby authorized to file in behalf of the Applicant an application (in the form required by the United States and in conformity with 33 U.S.C. 466e) for a nest grant to be made by the United States to the applicant to aid in defraying the cost of construction of the sewage treatment work; 2. That R. C. Macon, Mayor, is hereby designated as the authorized representative of the Applicant for the purpose of furnishing to the United States such information, data, and docu- ments pertaining to the application for a grant as may be required and otherwise to act as the authorized representative of the Ap- plicant in connection with this application; 3. WHEREAS; pursuant to A.L. 9-117 the United States of America has authorized the making of grants to public bodies to ail in financing the construction of basic water and sewer projects: NOW9 THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY the City Council of the City bf Fairhope, that R. C.
