COUNTY OF BALDWIN
Ghe City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session
at the City Hall, Monday, November 269 1966 at 7:30 P.M. with the
following members present: Mayor"Macon, Councilmen: Spader, Reyno
Stipes, Gaston and Stine.
Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved.
Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Spader that
the City run 6" water line from Greeno Road East on Gayfer Street
to the City Limits provided residents outside City Limits connect
to line with 2" line attheir own expense. Motion carried.
The following Resolution adopted by the Planning Commission was
read to the Council:
RESOLUTION
WHEREAS, The Fairhope City Planning Commission is obligated to
administer to the City Planning Program for the entire City of
Fairhope, and
WHEREAS, Revenue to the -City can be increased through additional
retail sales, and
WHEREAS, industrial development will increase basic employment in
the labor force, and
WHEREAS, Industrial promotion is a necessary part of improving
the economic base structure of the community and balancing the
economy, and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission sincerely believes that addition
industry is necessary for the betterment of the community,
BE IT RESOLVED by the Planning Commission that the Mayor and
Council acquire necessary acreage and develop an industrial park
per*se' as espeditiously as possible.
Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stine that
the application of Estella Dale for Beer Permit at Small Paradise
be denied. Motion carried.
Discussion on charges for out on and offs outside the City Limits
was held for next regular meeting of the Council.
Motion by Councilman Stine seconded by Councilman Reynolds that
the City keep 1965 Police Car for City Superintendent's use.
Motion carried.
Representatives of various Insurance companies met with the Counc
in regards to bids on City insurance. After a lengthy discussion
it was agreed to accept bids at the Dec. 12th meeting as previous
ly agreed.
Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Spader that --
the Council dispense with the regular meeting of December 26,
1966. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stipes that
the City widen Fairhope Avenue and correct parking on South side
from Section Street east to Bancroft. Motion carried.

Mr. H. Ellis, Architect, presented plans for City Hall Complex.
After general discussion as to location, (Including meeting hall,
moving reservoir and water tank, etc. Mr. Ellis was requested
to present plan as submitted with the exception of the meeting
hall. Mr. Ellis, Mr. Niemeyer, Mr. Kirk and Mr. Moore were
requested to get additional information as to lot, size of
reservoir etc.
Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Spader that
the meeting adjourn in unadjourned session to meet on Wednesday,
November 309 1966 at the City Hall at 7:30 P.M. Motion carried.
