HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-26-1966 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at the City Hall, Monday, September 269 1966 at 7:30 P.M. with the following members present: Mayor Macon, Councilmen: Spader, Reynolds, Stipes, Gaston and Stine. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved. A committee from the Chamber of Commerce reported on the amount of funds collected for Christmas decorations and which decoration were to be purchased this year. Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stine that the City allocate $1500.00 to the Chamber toward the purchase of Christmas decorations. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Spader that the City Superintendent be authorized to extend gas and water line on 3rd Avenue at an approximate cost of $96.00. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Stine that the City accept proposal of §75.00 per month submitted by Electronic Services by Joseph F. Grantham, for service on the City's communications equipment on a three month basis. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Gaston seconded by Councilman Stine that the application for Beer Permit of Mrs. W. H. Renauld at the Jubilee One Stop Grocery formerly Leavins Grocery, located on S. Mobile Avenue within the Police Jurisdiction of the City of Fairhope, be approved. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stine that the City Superintendent be authorized to ex-itend gas line from Young Street at Johnson's Corner approximately 2000 feet. Motion carried. The Council authorized R. C. Yohn to acquire right-of-way deeds necessary for opening Middle Street. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Coun man Stine that the meeting adjourn.
