Motion carrid. 11,2 � RESOLUTION A RESOLUTION PROVIDING FOR NOTICE AND ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS FOR PUBLIC WORK WITH REFERENCE TO IMPROVEMENTS DESCRIBED IN IMPROVEM ORDINANCE NO. 358 ADOPTED THE 25th DAY OF APRIL, 1966. BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF FAIR - HOPE, ALABAMA, AS FOLLOWS: Section 1. That notice shall be given, asking for bids for public work in making the improvements described in Improvement Ordinance No. 358, as provided in Section 521 of Title 37 of the 1940 Code of Alabama, as recompiled in 1958. Section 2. That the following notice shall be published once a week for two consecutive weeks in the Fairhope Courier, a newspaper published in and of general circulation in the City of Fairhope, Alabama: NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS Sealed proposals will be received by the City of Fairhope, Alabama at the City Hall, until r _o'clock . M. C.S.T. on the day of e,.,. e-- 1966 after which time no bids will be received, and thentpub- licly opened and read, for furnishing all labor, materials, tools and equipment for the complete construction of certain street improvements, including grading, draining, paving, curb and gutter and all work as set out by the City Engineer, a copy of which is attached hereto, and by reference incorporated herein, as though fully set out, under Improvement Ordinance No. 358 of the City of Fairhope, Alabama. Plans, specifications and contract documents are open to public inspection in the Office of the City Clerk of Fair - hope, Alabama, or at the Office of the City Engineer of Fairhope, Alabama, and may be obtained from the office of the City Engineer upon deposit of $ /i;°° per set. The full amount of deposit will be refunded to persons or firms submitting a bid and all other deposits will be re- funded (with deductions not exceeding the actual cost of the documents) upon return of all documents in good con- dition within five days after the date of opening bids. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids and to waive informalities and technicalities. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for at least thirty days. Only pro- posals submitted by bidders duly licenses as required by the Alabama Code of 1940J. Title 46, Section 65, et seq. will be considered. The approximate quantities of such work and the types of materials, including alternates, if any, are attached hereto and made a part hereof as though fully incorporated herein. /,2; A certified check or bid bond in the amount of 5% of the total bid price must accompany each proposal, the payee of such check or the obligee of such bond to be the City of Fairhope, Alabama. The successful bidder must furnish a surety bond for the faithful completion of the work in the amount of 100% of the bid price, executed by a bonding company licensed to do business in the State of Alabama. r CITY OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA By MAYOR CITY ENGINEER Section 3. ATTEST: ITY CLERK Motion by Councilman Gaston seconded by Councilman Stine that upon the recommendation of the Airport Board that the City accept Proposal A and Proposal C with alternate A and B low bid of W. T. Ratliff and Proposal B. Alternate A of low bid of Mathews Electric Company. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Spader that Miss Milly Hanby be reinstated as stenographer effective June 1, 1966. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman Spader seconded by Councilman Gaston that the bill of Moore Engineering Company in the amount of $1189.99 for services rendered in connection with Airport Project be approved for payment.
