COUNTI OF SALDWIN
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular
session at the City Hall, Monday, November 239 1964 with the
following members present: Mayor Macon, Councilmen Reynolds,
Stites, Gaston and Stinee Councilman Spader being absent.
Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved.
This being date set for receiving bids on large engine and
equipment at the plant, the following bids were received:

Motion by Councilman Gaston seconded by Councilman Stipes that
bids be turned over to Jack Kirk for study appraisal and accep-
tance of high bid most favorable to the City. Notion carried.
Motion by Councilman Stine seconded by Councilman Gaston that
the request to vacate Central Boulevard be referred to the Planning
Commission.i Notion carried.
Notion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Gaston that
the Mayor be authorized to si service contract with United Gas
Pipe Line Co. thru 1975. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Gaston seconded by Councilman Stipes that
Mayor be authorized to write Mr.° D. D. Dillingham, Jr. of United
Gas Pipe Line Co. approving proposal of United Gas with Federal
Power Commission as outlined in letter from United Gas dated Octo-
ber 29, 1964. Letter on file in City Hall. Notion carried.
Notion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Reynolds
that the City purchase 250 Auto t s advertising the City'of Fairhope
for the E.A.A. at a cost of $165.2210 Motion carried.
Notion by Councilman Gaston seconded by Councilman Reynolds
that City donate $57.50 to Volunteer Fire Department for insurance.
Notion carried.
Motio by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stine that
City pay 20.0,00 to the Art Association for repainting Christmas
Decorations*, Notion carried.
Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Gaston that
the request of Mr. Lipscomb to pave parking area adjaeent'to
elementary school on St. James Street be turned over to Mayor Macon 0-
for study." Motion carried.
Letter from Mr. L. I. Boone concerning drainage on Valley and
Nichols Street was referred to Mr. Dyson for study and report to
Council at their nest regular meeting.'
Notion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Reynolds that
delinquent accounts be turned over to the City Attorney for collec-
tion. Notion carried.
Notion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Gaston
that $531,61 in old paving accounts be charged off the books as
uneolleetible. Motion carried.1
Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Reynolds
that the following Resolution be adopted. Notion carried.
BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Fairhope
that the City Clerk be authorized to make necessary boo eeping
entries to charge off Warrants payable in the amount of 329000.00
which represents monies from the General Obligation Sewer Bond
& Interest Account used to build bridge across Stack's Gully in
1954 and paving on Fig Street and 1959 Street Improvements.
Notion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Stine that
City continue policy of publishing Council proceedings.' Notion
carried.
Motion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Stine that
all reqquests, reports, eta. for Council Agenda be submitted by
10t00 A. M. on Thursday preceding Council meeting.° Notion carried.
Motion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stipes
that gas deposit outside City Limits of Fairhope and outside City
Limits of Daphne be increased to 100 effective immediately.
Motion carried.,
Notion by Councilman Stipes seconded by Councilman Reynolds
that Ordinance Vacation and Sick Leave for Ci Employeesintroduced at.tt3309a regular meeting of November 9, 1994 be adopted
as introduced. Notion carried.
Notion by Councilman Re holds seoonded by Counoilman-Gaston
that condensed form of Audi be published in The Fairhope Courier.
Motion carried.
Motion} by Councilman B ynolds seconded by Councilman Stipes
that two l2) hour parki gn the downtown area so designated be
enforced effective December 1, 1964. Notion carried.,
Mr. Niemeyer was instructed to draw ur specifications for
garbage pick-up and advertise for bids. Bids to be o e ed'at the
regular meeting of the City Council on December 14, 164.
Notion by Councilman Reynolds seconded by Councilman Stine
that the request of Norah Lee Sanders for retail beer permit be
tabled.' Motion carried.
