COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The City Council of the City of Fairhope met in regular session at
the City Hall, Monday, August 10, 1964 with the following members
present: Mayor Schneider, Councilmen: Boone, Gaston, Nelson,
and Spader. Councilman Poser being absent.
The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved.
Motion by Councilman Nelson seconded by Councilman Bebae that the
present beer license now held by Dogwood Lanes, Inc. be allowed
to move to Lounge and that said holder be granted permit to sell
draft beer and liquor, liquor to be restricted to Lounge only
which will be a separate part of the premises. Upon being put to
vote the following vote was recorded: Voting for: Councilmen
Boone, Gaston & Nelson. Voting against: Councilman Spader.
Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Nelson seconded by Councilman Boone that
bill for City Insurance be tabled. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Boone seconded by Councilman Nelson that Liquor
and Beer Permit be issued to Lavern C. and Charlene 0. Cox at
Kiprene's. Inc. and that present license at Kiprene's be cancelled.
Upon being put to vote the following vote was recorded: For:
Councilman Boone, Gaston and Nelson. Against: Councilman Spader.
Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Boone seconded by Councilman Gaston that upon
recommendation of Byrd L. Moore & Co. Engineers, Williams &
Bouler Estimate No. 11 in amount of $4733,08 and Estimate No. 4 in
amount of $270.05 be approved for payment. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Boone seconded by Councilman Gaston that
current bill of Byrd L. Moore & Co., in amount of $222.30 be approved
for payment. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Nelson seconded by Councilman Gaston that
building permit be approved on Lot 3 & 4. Blue Island Avenue, Gregor
Subdivision upon owner posting satisfactory bond in amount of
$19000.00 until street has been paved. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Spader seconded by Councilman Boone that the
Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to execute bond in case of
Daphne VS Fairhope. Copy attached hereto. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Nelson seconded by Councilman Boone that the
Chief of the Volunteer Fire Department be authorized to instruct
his representative to fulfill conditions of contract in accepting
fire truck as covered by telegram dated August 10, 1964. Motion
carried.
Motion by Councilman Boone seconded by Councilman Gaston that the
bills -be approved for payment. Motion carried.

Mr. L. C. Maury presented claim against the City for personal
property damage. No action taken on claim.
Moore Engineers were instructed to prepare deed for necessary }-
land for Municipal Street Aid Program.
Motion by Councilman Boone seconded by Councilman Nelson that the
meeting adjourn to meet on August 12, 1964 at 7:30 P. M. at City
Hall to canvass returns of Municipal Election. Motion carried.
