County of Baldwin
The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope mdt in regular
session at the Town Hall, Monday, November 28, 1949 with
the following members present: T,iayor T.J.Klumpp, City
Superintendent C. B. Niemeyer, Councilmen: M. 0. Berglin,
R. H. Brown, J. T. Bradford, E. B. Overton and Ira Steele.
Motion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman Brown
that the minutes of the previous meeting be approved as
read. Motion carried.
A Committee from the Fairhope High•School met with the
Council to discuss the possibility of a gymnasium for
the High School.
Motion by Councilman Overton seconded by Councilman
Steele that the proposal of a Hospital be voted on at a
later date. Motion carried.
Yotion by Councilman Steele seconded by Councilman Brown
that the application of E. B. Gaston Estate to build
warehouse on Lot 4, Block 12, Division 1 be alloyed.
1:otion carried.
Lotion by Councilman Berglin seconded by Councilman
Overton that the application of Dr. H. C. Jordan to rebuild
garage on Lot 7, Block 7, Division 1, be allowed. , P.;otic-n
carried.
Lotion by Councilman Bradford seconded by Councilman Brown
that the application of Klumpp Motor Co., Inc. to construct
Used Car Lot with Office on Lot #8, Block 4, Division 37 be
allowed. Moticn carried.
Mafpr Klumpp appointed a Committee to meet with a committee
from the Jairhope Yacht Club to discuss the leasing of the
land directly north of present Yacht Club.
Notion by Councilman Brown seconded by Councilman Berglin
that the following Fesolution be adopted. Motion carried.
RESOLUTICN
Whereas, the assessment of and on all property and subjects
to taxation liable for taxes in the Town of Fairhope for
the year 1949 having been made by I.1ari e DFoore the person
designated to assess such taxes, and baving been returned
to the Council, all in accordance with the lav,s of the
State of Alabama and the Tov;n of Fairhope,
TI-EhLT'ORE BE IT itESOLVED, that the Tot' n Council of the Town
of Fairhope ;rill sit between the hours of 7:30 P.M. and
9:CO P.M. on the 12th day of December, 1949 to hear any ,and
all objections to such assessment of Town Taxes.
BE IT FURT117Eh RESOLVED that the Eavor of the Town of Fairhope
and the Clerk of the Town of F�,incc,pe be and they are hereby
directed to cause notice of such assessrent of taxes, and of
the time and place for hearing and determining objection in the
Fairhope Courier in its issues of December 1 and December 12,
1949.
