HomeMy WebLinkAbout10-01-1949 Special MeetingSpecial meeting of the council for the city of'Fairhope was held on October 11 1949. Those present were Mayor Klumpp, Councilmen Bradford, Berglin, Steele and Brown; absent, Councilman Overton. The council met to discuss the termination of the employment of Mx. R. C. Yohn as Clerk of the town. Discussion was had and Ur. Yohn was invited in and informed that the Town would accept his resignation, and he declined to resign. Councilmen Brad- ford and Berglin expressed general dissatisfaction of Mr. Yohn's performance of his duties. I;Ir. Yohn declined to make any further comments. A hearing was had to determine whether -M-r. Yohn be relieved of his duties as Clerk of the Town of Fairhope, and Mr. Yohn waived further notice of the hearing. Councilman Bradford moved that Mr. Yohn be removed from the office of the Clerk of the, Town of Fairhope for incompetency and non -cooperation, and that he be relieved of his duties on this date, but that he be paid up to 101-4 and inclusive of 31 October 1949, in accordance with the oral under- standing. Councilman Berglin seconded this .motion. Roll call was had and the votes were as follows: .Councilman Bradford - Yea Councilman Berglin - Yea Councilman Steele - Yea Councilman Brown - Yea Mayor Klumpp - Yea Those opposing - None. I,Iayor Klumpp declared the motion carried. Councilman Steele moved that Marie Lloore be appointed to act as Temporary Clerk, subject to be removed without cause, a#A=:MM as Seconded by Councilman Bradford. Roll call was had and the votes were as follows: CouncOman Bradford - Yea Councilman Berglin - Yea Councilman Steele - Yea Councilman Brown - Yea Mayor Klumpp - Yea Those opposing - None. Mayor Klumpp declared -the motion carried. The meeting was adjourned on the motion of Councilman Bradford. Approved Attest
