COUNTY OF BALDWIN
The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope met in
regular session at the Town Hall Tuesday January
149 1947 at 7:30 P.M. with the following members
present: Mayor Howard Ruge, Councilmen: J. H. Bennett,
C. A. Gaston, H. P. Kamper, W. 0. Keeble and J. 0.
Stimpson.
The minutes of the previous regular meeting were
read and approved.
The following bills were allowed:

Motion by Councilman C. A. Gaston seconded by
Councilman J. H. Bennett that the Town of Fairhope
contribute $50.00 toward the expense of the local
band`.to'the inauguration. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman J.H. Bennett seconded by
Councilman J..O. Stimpson that the Mayor be author-
ized to secure from the Fairhope Single Tax Colony
the East 10 feet of its land on the West Side of
Section Street between Fairhope and Magnolia Ave.
to be used by the Town for increasing the width of
Section Street and not heretofore conveyed to the
Town for such purposes. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Gaston seconded by councilman
Kamper that the application of Sam Dyson for build-
ing permit on Lot 6 Block 7 Div. 1 be approved if
amended to comply with existing building ordinance.
Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Gaston seconded by Councilman
H. P. Kamper that the application of W. F. Hawis
for permit to construct sidewalk at Fairhope Casino
be approved subject to such walk beikg built accord-
ing to standard specifications. Motion carried.
Motion by Councilman Kamper seconded by Councilman
Stimpson that the application df J. E. Gaston to
erect sign at New building on Section Street be
allowed. Motion carried.
It was duly moved and seconded that the meeting
adjourn.
