HomeMy WebLinkAbout09-11-1945 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA, COUNTY OF BALDWIN The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope met in regular session at the Town Hall Tuesday Beptember 11, 1945 at 7:30 P.M. with the following members present: Howard Ruge, Mayor, Councilmen: C. A. Gaston, J. H. Bennett, H. P. Kamper, W. 0. Keeble and J. 0. Stimpson. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved as read. Gaston that the application of Sam Dyson for building permit on Lot 6 Blk 7 Div. 1 be allowed. Motion carried. Motion by Councilman C. A. Gaston seconded by Councilman J. H. Bennett that the application of C. N. Atkins for building permit on Lot 18 Blk 23ingleside be allowed subject to Ordinance requirements ef as to distance except that the minimum from Ingleside Avenue be 25 feet. Motion carried. It was duly moved and seconded that the meeting adjourn. Motion carried. Approvdt� ..e All. t e rst: s l* 17% ` 'AN ORDINANCE BE IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF TIDE TOWN OF FAIRHOPE: Section 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby elected and designated as City Manager of the Town of Fairhope and shall have and exercise all powers and authority and do and perform all acts and duties prescribed by law to the City Manager under the local act passed by the legislature of Alabama at its 1945 session relative to City manager of the Town of Fairhope. Section 2: The term for which the Mayor shall serve as City Manager shall commence October 1,'1945 and shall terminate September 30, 1946. The Council has under said act and hereby reserves the right &t any time to repeal this ordinance and terminate such service with or without cause. The Mayor shall receive as compensation for his services as City Manager in addition to his salary as Mayor the sum of t275.00 per month, payable on the last day of each month`, fifty dollars of such salary shall be paid out of the general fund, one hundred sixty-five dollars out of the electric plant funds and sixty dollars out of the water and sewerage funds. Section 3: The Mayor's services as super- intendent of the light plant and water and sewerage systems under the local act of 1939 shall terminate October 1,, 1945.
