HomeMy WebLinkAbout12-08-1941 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAAfTA COUNTY OF BALDWIN The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope met in regular session at the Town Hall, Monday, December 81 1941 at 7:30 P.M. with the following members present: Howard Ruge, Vhyor, Councilmen: M.O. Berglin, C.A. Gaston, H.P. Kamper and J.O. Stimpson. The minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved as read. The following bills were allayed: C.D. Water 3.00 It wa.s moved by Councilman M.O. Berglin and seconded by Councilman H.P. Kamper that the application for building permit for addition be granted to S.M. Bonnell.. Motion carried. It was moved by Councilman M.O. Berglin and seconded by Councilman H.P. Kamper that the application of L.A. Berglin for building permit for addition be granted.. Lotion carried. Councilman M. 0. Berg]Jnoffered the following resolution: Ordinance No.) ' Bq It Ordained By The Town Council of The 'Town of Fairhope: Section One: The Mayor may call special meetings of the town council, at the request of private persons to consider matters of peculiar interest to such persons, whenever in his judgement'the matter is of importance to warrant a special meeting; but no such special meeting shall be called unless and until the person or per- sons requesting the call shall pay to the town clerk the sum of Fixe Dollars (05.00) to defray the cost of calling and holding such spe- cial meeting. Section Two: Each member of the Town Council, except the Mayor, shall be paid one dollar (01.00) for attending each special meeting held under this ordinance. Councilman J. 0. Stimpson moved that all rules and regula- tions which would'prevent the said ordinance being considered at this meeting suspended and said motion having been seconded by Councilman M. 0. BergIJnwas put by the Mayor with the following result: Voting for the same,Howard Huge - iviayor; C. A. Gaston, H. P. Kamper, J. 0. Stimpson, M. 0. Berglin, Sam Dyson Voting against - None The Mayor thereupon declared the motion carried and the rule suspended. Councilman J. 0. Stimpson moved that the ordinance be put upon its passage. The said motion being seconded by Council- man M. 0. Berglin upon roll call voted Mayor,Howard Ruge,Councilman M:.O. Berglin, J. u. 5ti�mpson, H. P. Kamper, Sam Dyson, C. A. Gaston voted for the same. Voting against the same - none. The Mayor de- clared the motion carried. The ordinance having been read in full, Councilman M. 0. Berglin moved that the same be adopted. The said motion having been _-seconded ?:1 by Councilman J. 0. Stimpson the Mayor put said motion,voting for the same,Howard Ruge, Mayors Coun- cilmen M. 0. Berglin, J. 0. Stimpson, C. A. Gaston, H. P. Kamper, Sam Dyson. Voting against the same - none; whereupon the Mayor de- clared the ordinance adopted and signed the same in the presence of the Council.
