The Town Council` of the Town of Fairhope met in regular session
at the Town Hall:,, Mondays January 13, 1941 at 7:30 P.M. with
the following members present: Howard Rune, Mayor, Councilmen:
K.P. Kamper, Sam Dyson,; J.O. Stimpsons; C.A. Gaston and M..O.
Berglin, the same constituting the full membership of the Town
Counc i 1.
The Minutes of the previous regular meeting were approved as
read.

It was moved by Councilman J.O. Stimpson and seconded by Council
man Sam Dyson that the application for building permit by W.S. Funk
be granted as per request on file. Motion carried.
The Mayor appointed a managing committee of Councilmen Sam Dyson and
H.P. Kamper to investigate the use of Commings Hall as A Municipal
Auditorium. Motion carried.

---B_r, IT ORDAINED BY THE TOWN COUNCIL OF THE TOWN OF FAIRHOPE , ALABAMA,
AS FOLLOWS:

(I.) A municipal election be and the same hereby is called to
be held on the 18th day of February, 1941 between the hours of 8:00
o'clock, A.M. and 5:00 o'clock, P.M. by the qualified electors of said
town for the purpose of determining the will of said qualified elec-
tors as to whether or not said town shall issue, on its credit, its -
general obligation bonds for the purpose of providing funds for the
payment of certain 51% mortgage; notes heretofore issued by said town
' dated June 1, 19'37, and January 1, 1940, which are secured by mort-
gages on units of the municipal light plant owned by said town, which
bonds shall be in the aggregate principal amount of $330000,shall be
dated January 1, 1941, shall consist of thirty-three coupon bonds in
the denomination of $19,000 each, shall bear interest at a rate not
Y exceeding 3% per annum, payable semi-annually, and shall mature and
become payable in installments as follows: $5,000 on January 1 in
each of the years from 1942 to 1944, inclusive, and $6,000 on January
l,in each of the years from 1945 to 1947, inclusive.
(2) The polling or voting place designated for said election
shall be the municipal hall in said town.
(3) There are hereby appointed the following named personas as
inspectors or managers, clerks and returning officer to conduct such
election: Call. Brady, J.T. Hodge and A.L. Stearns, as inspectors or
managers; P.A. Grassfield and A.H. Mershon, as clerks; and E.G. Miller
as returning officer.
(4) The following notice of the said election shall be published
in the Fairhope Courier, a newspaper of general circulation in and
published in said town, in the issues of said newspaper of January 16,
1941, January 23, 1941 and January 309 1941:

BOND ISSUE ELECTION
Notide is hereby given that a special municipal
election will be held in the Town of. Fairhope, Alabama,
at the municipal hall on the 18th day of February, 1941s
between the hours of 8 A.M. and 5 P.M. fo.r the purpose of
submitting to the electors of the Town of Fairhope, Ala-
bama,: the question of whether or not the Town of Fairhope,
Alabama, shall issue and sell $330000 of general obligation
bonds, to be dated January 19, 1941, in denomination of
01000 each, and to be payable:.

Such bonds to draw interest at not to exceed three percent
per annum, payable semi-annually on July lst and January lst
of each year, and to be evidenced by coupons attached to such
bonds; such bonds to be issued for the purpose of providing
for the payment of municipal five percent mortgage notes
issued by the Town of Fairhope June 1, 1937 and January l,•1940,
secured by mortgages on units of the municipal light. plant.
The officers appointed to hold such election and to canvass
and return the results thereof are:

Shall the Town of Fairhope, Alabama, issue
$33,000 principal amount of Town of Fairhope gen-
eral obligation bonds for the purpose of provid-
ing funds for the payment of certain 5% mortgage
notes heretofore issued by said town in the ac-
quisition of and which are secured by mortgages
on units of the municipal light plant of said
town, such bonds to be dated January 1, 1941, to
bear interest at a rate not exceeding 3% per annum
• payable semi-annually on July 1 and Januaryl, to
be in the denomination of $1p000 each and to mature
and be payable in installments as follows: $5,000
on January 1 in each of the years from 1942 to 1944,
inclusive, and $6,000 on January 1 in each of the
years from 1945 to 19479, inclusive?

(6) The mayor is hereby authorized to give notice of said
election in the manner required by law, to give notice to the
election officers of their appointment as such and to do all
other things necessary to the holding of said election.
Mr. H.P. Kamper moved that the rules be suspended and unanimous
consent be given for immediate consideration of and action on said
ordinance, which motion was seconded by Mr. Sam Dyson, and upon
the motion being put to vote the following vote was recorders:
Ayess Messrs, Ruge, Berglin, Dyson, Gaston, Kamper and Stimpson;
Nayss None. The mayor thereupon declared that the motion for
unanimous consent for immediate consideration of and action -on
said ordinance had been unnniously carried. Mr. J.O. Stimpson
there: -upon moved that the said ordinance be finally adopted, which
motion was seconded by Mr. C.A. Gaston, and upon said motion being
put to vote the following vote was recorded: Ayes: Messrs Ruge,
Berglin, Dyson, Gaston, Kamper and Stimpson; Nayes; None. The
mayor thereupon announced that the motion for adoption of said
ordinance had been unanimously carried.
There being no further business to come before the meeting
the same was, on motion, duly adjourned. _
