County of Baldwin
The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope met in regular
session at the Town Hall, Mondays November 141, 1938 at 7:30
P.14. with the following members present: Howard Ruge, Mayors
mI.0. Berglin, Sam Dyson, C.A. Gaston, H.P. Kamper and J.O.
Stimpson, the same constituting the full membership of the
Town Council.
The minutes of the previous reguha.r meeting were approved
as read.
The minutes of the special meeting held on Dc-tober 28th were
approved as corrected,

It was moved by Councilman J.O. Stimpson and seconded by Council-
man H.P. Kamper that the Town contract for a full page add in
50th anniversery special addition of the Baldwin Times. 11otion
carried.
It was moved by Councilman C.A. Gaston and seconded by Council-
man H.P. Kamper that the application of the Fairhope Coal and
Supply Company to demolish the Rath j e Frame store building be
granted. Notion carried.
It was moved by Councilman C.A. Gaston and seconded by -Council-
man J.O. Stimpson that Chairman Berglin and the Mayor be author-
ized to to contract to recondition the Auxiliary water supply
at the Hay pumping station. Motion carried.
Councilmen C.A. Gaston introduced and moved the adoption of
the following resolution:
,hereas the question has been raised as to the Town* s author-
ity to grant Converse Harwell a permit to place a kiln on the
park land next to his leasehold in Block one, Division four, -
be it resolved that such action by the Town council at its
meeting of October 24th be submitted to the Executive Council
of the Fairhope Single Tax Corporation. Resolution unani-
mously approved.and adopted.
It was moved by Councilman C.A. Gaston and seconded by Houncil-
man H.P. Kamper that George Dyson be given the sujlenintendency
of the street department in addition to his present duties
with an additional salary of $15.00 per month. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman t,.0. Berglin and seconded by Council-
man J.O. Stimpson that the Town donate 40�25.00 toward the rent
of the building fbr the Tourist Club and donate the Electric
light and water for a five month period. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman J.O. Stimpson and seconded by Council-
man H.P. Kamper that the town donate to the firemen $25.00 for
their Christmas Tree Fund. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman Sam Dyson and seconded by Council-
man M.O. Berglin that the p(ttition for the revision of the
Commercial Electric rated be referred to a committee for in-
Vestigation . Motion carried.
The following committee was appointed by the Mayor: Council-
men C.A. Gaston, H.P. Kamper and Sam Dyson.
On motion of M.O. Berglin and Seconded by C.A. Ha.ston, the
following resolution was unanimoubly adopted.
BE IT RESOLVED by the Town Council of the Town of Fairhope,
Alabama., that there be and is hereby adopted for use in the
collection of taxes due the Town of Fairhope the following
form of execution, to -wit:

TO THE TOWN MARSHAL OF THE TOWN OF FAIRHOPE, ALABAMA, GREETING. -
WHEREAS, after the first day of Oc tober,1937, the Town
of Fairhope levied a five mill tax for general purposes and
a five mill tax for special purposes, as authorized by a vote
of the qualified electors of the Town of Fairhope, upon pro-
perty and subjects of taxation liable therefor, within the
Town of Fairhope, for the year 1937, upon assessments to be
made by E.S. Tunstall, the person designated to make the
assessments of taxes for such year; and assessmentsiha.V.349
beenemade by said E.S. Tunstall on the State assessment in
the manner provided by the Constitution of the State and,the
Statutes made and provided;bgndlareturn thereof having been
made within the time and in the manner provided by law, the
Town Council did give ten (10) days' notice in the manner
and for the time required by law of the time and place for
hearing and determining objections thereto, and at such time
and place no objections having been made to such assessments,
the same as made and rreturned were determined as the assess-
ments of such property and subjects of taxation liable there-
for for the year 1937;
AND WHEREAS, as aforesaid, there was assessed to _
the following properties:
and against said property and subjects of taxation liable there-
for and against the said , as the owner thereof,

same can be found, and if not, then upon any other of the pro-
perty of _, and to sell the same in the
manner provided by law, and make return of this Writ and the
execution thereof, according to law.
