The Town Council of the Town of Fairhope met in regular session
at the Town Hall, Mond-.y, September 12, 1938, at 7:30 P.I,1.
with the followinL members present, Howard Huge -Mayor, I1. 0
Perlin, Sarr.Dygon, C. A. Gaston and J. 0. Stimpson.
The minutes of the previous meeting were approved as read.

It was moved by Councilman 11. 0. Berglin and seconded by
Councilman J. 0. Stimpson that the following re:=olution be
adopted.
WHERBAS, a majority of telephone subscribers of the Town of
Fpirhope, have demonstrated by petition that they desire a
community dial telephone system in the Town and
WHEREAS, The Southern Bell Tele-ohone and Telegraph Company
proposes to petition the Alabama Public Service Commission to
increase its rates for these stated classes of service and put
in effect the following schedule:

BE IT RESOLVED: That its is the sense of this Council that the
rates as shown above, if found by the Public Service Commission,
after proper investigation, to be fair and equitable, be hereby
approved.
Resolution unanimously adopted.
It was moved by Councilman J. 0. Stimpson and seconded by Council -
man M.O. Berglin that the Mayor appoint a committee to work with
the Citizens Committee in regards to the Community Center Building.
Motion carried and the following appointed, Councilman Sam Dyson,
and Councilman C. A. Gaston.
It was moved by Councilman C. A. Gaston, seconded by Councilman
J. 0. Stimpson, that exception be made to the building ordinance,
granting a permit to Mr. 0. K. Cummings for a building on the
North half of lot six and of the Vest half of Lot 7, blk. 10
Div. 2, 27 ft. 10 in. from Bay View Ave. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman M. 0. Berglin and seconded by Council -
man J. 0. Stimpson, that permission be granted to Mr. Harold
McKean to erect a building on Lot 1 Blk. 6 Div. 4, as per plans
submitted. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman Sam Dyson,seconded by Councilman J. 0.
Stimpson, that permission be granted Mr. Chas. Shields to move
building and to relocate same on North 75 Ft. of South 150 ft.
of the East 571 ft. of Lot 4 Blk. 8 Div. I, as per plans presented.
Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman M. 0. Berglin, seconded by Councilman
C. A. Gaston, that a,_building permit be granted to Dr. Dunn to
.,, build on Lot 9 B1k--2-"Ingleside, 30 Ft. from Prospect and 15ft.
from Grand Blvd. Motion carried.
It was moved by Councilman C. A. Gaston, seconded by Councilman

M. 0. Berglin, that the rules and regulations for electric
service be amended to ppovide that, upon the posting of
0 12.00 with the Town Clerk, an owner of rental property,
or renter,, who guarantees a year's continuous service,
may make application for range or water heater installation
as provided for in Council action of January 14, 1935, and
after full and satisfactory performance on the part of the
applicant the Town will make refund of the $ 12.00 deposit,
and further; That the o�jective rate be made available to
electric consumers having a service record of six months,
where such consumer operates an electric range, water heater
or refrigerator.
Motion was made and duly seconded that the meeting adjourn.
Motion carried.
