Motion was made C, A. Gaston and seconded by W. O. Keeble that
.the . o,uncil(..a.utharizeethe Mayor, in behalf of the Town of Fairhope,
to make a written appeal to lar. Harry L. hopkins and such other w.P.A
officials concerned, setting forth the pecular situation of Balawin
County with refernee to workmen eligible for assignment to W. P. A.

adoption was seconded by W. 0. Keeble, and the sambebeing put upon its
passage was unanimously adopted;
BE FT RESOIMM: by the Town Council of the Town of Fairhope, Alabama
that Dray Artesian Well Company be granted an extension of time until
July 30, 1935, to complete their contract.
This extension to bE granted on water works and sewer system, Docket
6762, proveded it meets: with the approval of the Public Works-dministration
and the the Public Works Administration agrees not to take from the grant
to the Town of Fairhope the liquidated damages that are waived by the
Town Of Fairhope.

The total contract time as stipulated in his contract was seventy-
five days (Calendar days).
Operations were begun on December 27,1934, and continued through
to "karch 25, 1935, when he was forced to suspend Operations because of
the fact that the aerator and reservoir had to be completed before he
could complete pipe installation and connections from the well to the
aerator. '14e construction of the aerator was doneeby different contractor
who. completed the job on July 2.5, 1935 and entirely completing his contract
on July 30, 1935-
Therefore the contract was really in force during the period; Dec-
em4er 27, 1934 to July 30, 1935, a total of 216 days, which indicates an
overrun of contract of 141 days.
During the period from December 27, to 'arch 25 the Contractor was
working under very difficult conditions; rain and cold weather, and actually
lost three full days account of rain; five days account of well casing being
fouldd in the hole due to caving conditions;and sip days account of inclement
weather, In addition to this, he was forced to suspend operations for tour
months +arch 25 to July 25 account of other contractor's operations.
