HomeMy WebLinkAbout03-25-1935 Regular MeetingSTATE OF ALABAMA BALDWIN COUNTY THE TOWN Council of the Town of Fairhope, County of Baldwin, Alabama, met in regular session at the Town Hall at 7:30 o'clock P. M. on the 25th day of March, 1935, when and where the following members were present, to -wit. Howard Ruge, Mayor; M. 0. Berglin, C. A. Gastconj W. 0. Keeble, T. J.Klumpp, and J. 0. Stimpson, Couhcilmen; the -same confatituting the full membership of the Town Council; read. The minutes of tote previous meeting were approved as The following resolution was introduced by C. A. Gaston and seconded by M. 0. Berglin, placed upon its passage and unanimously adopted:, - WHEREAS the Town of Fairhope ownd a. Clay Pit within a quarter of a mile of the town limits situatedbon the k'airhope Bay Bridge Road suitaole for use in the construction of the base. for bituminous street. surfacing; and WHEREAS it is desirable and to the best interest of the public that Clay be acquired by the contract- ors in the construction of proposed streets under P. W. A. Loan and Grant Agreement numbered 5162 at a. reasonable price; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to sell clay from said pit to the contractor or contractors at the sum of three (3) cents per cubic yard, the same being less than can be elsewhere procured for such purpose. The following resolution was introduced by M. 0. Berglin seconded by T. J. Elumpp, placed upon its passage and unanimously adopted; AREAS tdie Town of Fairhope owns amd operates a Wharf suitaole for use by contractors in the construction now underway and that may hereafter be undertaken under P. W. A. Dockets 516Z and 6762 send; WHEREAS it is to the best interest of the puitlie that. such contractors have Wharfage service at the lowest reasonable cost; THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that rates on the town wharf be and hereby are reduced to and fixed at the figures hereafter set out to contractors under said Projects numbered 5162 and 6762, viz: I For machinery and equipment - 20X per ton . 2 Materials gor use in construction excepting sand, clay, gravel and slag 20,e per ton. 3 Sand, Clay, gravel and slag - 20jt per yard Motion was made by J. 0. Stimpson a.hd seconded by T. J. El.umpp that the Town's contribution to the salary of E.D.
